Fearless Lead.
Well, since we lost, the other team bought us drinks. I had a huge bottle of Labbatt Blue all to myself and got rather trashed. We hung out in the bar above the rink for a little while, and then eventually went to Capitaine Grec which, for some reason (I'm guessing it's a front for some money laundering institution), is open 'til all hours. We had some humongous poutines (well, the others did, since I don't like poutine), and then eventually made it to the Esso where we called taxis. There were some really emotionally drunk girls who scared me, Oliver and Sam. Anyway, enough about that.
Other interesting things in my life... Chris and Ryan have been deported from England, which sort of sucks for them. You can read about it in their blogs:Here for Ryan's, and Here for Chris's. I'll put them in my sidebar too. I miss them a lot, but we've been able to keep in touch via email and msn.
Right now I'm supposed to be preparing for a seminar due Monday. Damnit... way too much to do. Today I have a string quartet gig, which will be my last, I think because the other members basically kicked me out. I'm a little bitter, but I'll get over it. Then, tomorrow I'll be going to a Halloween party. Hopefully that will help me forget all my trouble!

Procrastinating is bad!
On another note, I've been lighting fun things on fire, and my pyromaniac journal is getting fuller every day. Hourra!
Now I will work for real...

I'm just pretending to be hung-over!
Ok, now, you may all ask, "What the fuck were you doing last night, already?" And I will tell you... I just have to put the pieces together in my mind. It all started at about 8:00 pm, when I met a bunch of people at the Golden Lion Pub, where we were going to celebrate Chris's 20th birthday. We did stay there for a while; I think the people there were Chris, Matt, Etienne, Ryan, Anna, Oliver, a guy named Bruce (previously unknown to me), Tom, and myself, of course. If I'm forgetting someone, it's because I'm too woozy to remember. Sam arrived a little later, after Etienne had to go.
Anyway, after I had conned Oliver into buying me a drink, a tequila sunrise, we decided it was best to get drunk on some cheaper booze which we could easily purchase at the Esso store and then go to Ian's place. So, Sam and I bought some cigars and some cigar wine, which, we later realized, was a very potent 19%. It was very sweet wine, vaguely port-ish. After we'd polished off that bottle between the two of us, we were officially drunk, though we kept saying we were only pretending. It's funny because we're both lightweights. I think I had more to drink than Sam though, and I was less drunk, though he'd probably beg to differ.
Ian and his girlfriend, Rachel, came home later to discover many people partying in his house. He stayed for a while and then felt sick and went to bet, I think. However, we stayed a while and took advantage of our innebriated state. Some interesting drunken activities included playing Mortal Kombat on Ian's PS2, falling over on whomever was beside me, poking Sam (my favorite activity to date), and dancing with Ryan. It was great.
So, we decided to actually let Ian sleep and go back to the Lion, now that we could have fun and not buy much alcohol. Oliver bought me a rhum and coke anyway. I think we lost Anna and Chris along the way, she went home and he was feeling sick, I think. Well, we had much merriment at the Lion, singing songs and stuff. I think we were celebrating a girl named Louisa's birthday, but details are shifty at this point. Eventually, everyone was gone but Sam, Oliver and me. We wandered around town, and, tired, called taxis and went home. I think I got back at 2:45 this morning, which might make one wonder, why am I awake right now?
Well, that's a good question, folks. I'd have to say it's because I have to write a couple of essays today. I'm gonna do that now. Wish me luck!

I have returned!
Well, it wasn't totally bad. I mean, I love my relatives there and I barely ever get to see them. Anyway, we first drove to Guelph, where my paternal grandparents live. We had supper and then my brother and I went out with my uncle Al to his musical friend's place (a guy who is constantly stoned and makes me think of an older Bob Marley). That was interesting...
The next day, Sunday, we chilled until my uncle Don and aunt Pat came over and we eventually had a big Thanksgiving dinner. It was smaller than usual, given that only two out of four of my dad's siblings were there. In previous years, there have been almost twenty people there, but I digress... just because it sounds cool. My dad played music with Don, which was fun for them, and noisy for the rest of us. Meh, wasn't so bad. That evening, we watched a movie called Walkabout which was sad, but very good. It's an Australian film about two kids who get lost in the desert and are helped by an aboriginie (spelling is shifty). It's very artsy and also very weird, and my grandmother just didn't get it.
Monday morning, we drove to Toronto to see my Isreali relatives one last time and also my maternal grandmother, whom we call Savta. We had a big nice lasagna lunch. My grandmother's is getting older and losing her eyesight, but she can still cook really well. We climbed the tree in front of her house and there being about five of us in it at one time, we dubbed it the "family tree". Haha... cute and unoriginal, but what the hey. Then, we left for home.
During our stay, my uncle Al told us the celtic philosophy of life, which I thought was good enough to repeat: "There are only two things to worry about in life: whether you're sick or well. If you're well, you have nothing to worry about, and if you're sick, you only have two things to worry about: whether you're going to get better or you're going to die. If you get better, there's nothing to worry about. If you die, there's only two things to worry about: whether you go to heaven or hell. If you go to heaven, you have nothing to worry about. If you go to hell, you'll be so busy partying with all your friends that you won't have time to worry about anything. So, there really isn't anything to worry about." Wise words.

Up-coming travels
Ok, now that my sanity has been established (or disestablished, depending on your point of view), let's talk about other things. Today, having handed in three of my assignments, I took the liberty of lounging in the student lounge (which is where you do such things) at my school for several hours and eventually bumming a ride off some guy, while Adam hid his eyes the whole trip because he doesn't want to know where I live. Weird guy. We talked about the strangest things in the lounge... Adam and I writing in binary code (ASKI) while making lewd references to the things other people were saying. Fun times!
I have a band practice tonight and that should be fun. I missed the last one, but that's ok. Apparently, not much was done. And tomorrow, I'm going to Ontario with my family to go see my larger family for Thanksgiving. I am so looking forward to the eight hour trip in the car... (That was sarcasm.) Well, I'm going to stop rambling now.

Stairway Movement is still cool.
Then I went to that electronic music concert, mentioned in my previous post. It was quite interesting, and even, I might say, enjoyable. There was lots of food at the reception too! After that, we (Nwar, Jonah and I) met up with Sam, Ryan and Thomas to go see Stairway Movement at the Lion. The warm-up band was pretty good, and Jonah and I danced a bit. Stairway Movement took forever to start up because they were having sound problems. Even when they had played, Sam and I only stayed for a couple of songs, Nwar and Jonah having left earlier and Ryan and Tom having been separated from us a while before. Besides, it was smoky, crowded, and loud. The band still played really well, it's just the Lion's sound system that sucks. Anywho, Sam walked me to Jonah's and I was barefoot because my feet hurt from wearing my crazy tall boots.
Today, my relatives from Israel came over and we basically jammed all afternoon, me on violin, my brother on guitar and my uncle on keyboard. That was fun. Now they're all watching School of Rock and I might go down and join them because that movie's really cool.
